It is very important for Go Birding Colombia and all our customers that you read our working policies which are detailed below. Once you hire our services, you automatically accept our terms and conditions.

Go Birding Colombia is committed to:​​

​

  • Prevent the commercialization on the traffic of pieces or goods belonging to the cultural patrimony of the nation according to the law 397 of 1997, the Decree 833 of 2002 and the law 1185 of 2008.

  • Prevent the commercialization of flora and fauna species threatened or endangered in Colombia and illicit exploitation of renewable natural resources, according to law 17 of 1981, Ministerial Resolution No. 1367 of 2000 and law 1453 of 2011 article 29.

  • Prevent sexual exploitation and pornography with minors and/or adolescents, according to article 44 of the Colombian constitution, law 679 of 2001 and/or law 1336 of 2009.

  • Prevent child labor exploitation according to the law of childhood and adolescence 1098 of 2006.

  • Guarantee the protection of the rights of a person, group of people, community or people, who have harmed in acts of racism or discrimination and the criminal sanction of acts of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, political or philosophical ideology, sex or sexual orientation, disability and other reasons of discrimination. (law 1482 of 2011 and law 1752 of 2015).

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Eligibility

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire tour. In this case, contact us for more information.

  • Reservations

You must book your tour using our website or directly by email to gobirdingcolombia@gmail.com, once we receive your request we will send you the booking form and the tour prices. Our acceptance of your booking takes place when we send an email to you to accept it (Booking confirmation), at that time, and from that date, the contract between you and us will come into existence. The contract will relate only to the tour and any extension of the tour confirmed in the booking confirmation. If we are unable to accept your booking for any reason, we will inform you of this by email and we will not process your booking. To complete the reservation you need to send us the signed contract and send it to us by email along with a copy of your passport and proof payment non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total trip price. The final payment must be made no later than 90 days before departure. (Note: Report each payment you make by means of an electronic mail indicating the details of your reservation and the amount of payment, the form of payment, and the date on which it was sent.

  • Payments

Payment for the tour is in advance, and is required to be paid as follows: If we receive your booking form, 3 months or less before the start of the tour, then you must pay the full cost of the tour. If we receive your booking form, more than 3 months before the start of the tour, then you must pay the amounts set out in the email that we sent you under when you send us your booking form and the balance no later than 3 months before departure.

  • Cancellations

To cancel the contract, you must email us at gobirdingcolombia@gmail.com. Please include details of your booking to help us to identify it. We may deduct from any refund an amount for the booking for the period up to the time when you gave notice of cancellation under the clause as follows: 60 days or more prior to departure date: the cancellation fee will be your non-refundable deposit (30%). 59 days or less prior to departure date: the cancellation fee will be the full cost of the tour, and full tour prices are due and payable even if you have not yet paid in full.

  • Refunds

We have the right to cancel the tour or tour extension for which there are insufficient reservations, two months before the departure date for the tour. If we cancel the entire tour because of insufficient reservations, all deposits and other payments will be refunded to you by us in full. An alternative to canceling the tour will be to charge a small group supplement. If a small group supplement is charged, and you don’t want to pay it, then you may cancel or transfer your booking to another tour without incurring any cancellation penalties if you notify us in writing no later than seven days after receiving our notice of a small group supplement charge.

  • Basis of Rates

All prices are per person based on double occupancy. All prices and fares are quoted in U.S. dollars. The rates are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Go Birding Colombia will do everything possible to maintain the listed prices and if it is necessary to levy a surcharge; Go Birding Colombia reserves the right to do so, and notification will be given at the time of final invoicing.

  • Tour price included

All meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and hydration. Accommodation in quality hotels based on double occupancy; single rooms/cabins are available at an extra cost. All transfers by ground or aerial transportation depending on the tour. Quality roomy vehicles to have a comfortable trip and plenty of space to carry luggage. Entrance fees to parks and reserves mentioned in each itinerary. Tour leader and local guides highly qualified. Medical and accident insurance. The price represents a complete package.

  • Tour price not included

Flights from and to other countries. Travel expenses such as departure taxes, passports, visas, immunizations, optional excursions, room service, beverages, laundry, excess baggage, telephone calls, internet SIM card and expenses of a purely personal nature or arising from the delay or extension of a trip due to causes beyond our control are not included. Tips for your porters, drivers, leader, and local guides are not included. Other items not specifically noted as included.

  • Itinerary Changes

The itineraries and staff presented on the website are subject to modification and change by Go Birding Colombia. Every reasonable effort will be made to operate our tours as planned, but alterations may still occur after final itineraries are sent.

  • Documentation

To travel to Colombia as a tourist you need a passport valid for 6 months beyond the date of the return trip. Participants are responsible for obtaining any documents required for their participation in the trips such as a valid passport, visa, vaccination certificates, and any other documents. Any extra costs incurred for rerouting due to travel without the necessary documents will be the participant’s responsibility.

  • Health Requirements

Go Birding Colombia has the Health Friendly Tours ©HFT program to ensure the good health of the travelers during our excursions. However, participants must have good physical and mental health. Any physical condition, diet, or treatment that requires special attention must be reported in writing when the reservation is made. If you use any special medication you must be sure to travel with the necessary amount for the entire trip, since you may not be able to get it outside of your country.

  • Medical and accident insurance

With Go birding Colombia you always travel assured and you can count on Medical assistance in case of an accident. Medical assistance in case of illness. Ambulatory medications. Daily rent per hospitalization due to accident. Nurse at home in case of an accident. Dental expenses in case of an accident. Initial care for pre-existing diseases (emergency consultation). Hotel costs for convalescence due to an accident. Medical transfers in case of an accident (up to limit of expenses). Transfers and stay of a chaperone in the event of an accident. Complementary compensation for loss of luggage in air transport. Remuneration for document theft. All the details about the medical assistance insurance will be sent with your purchase contract. Note: Despite our customers are covered by medical assistance insurance, Go Birding Colombia recommend you to acquire your preferred insurance.

  • Assumption of Risk

By registering in any of our tours, the participant acknowledges that he/she is aware that travel involves activities that could be dangerous, some in remote areas with a risk of illness, injury, or death which may be caused by forces of nature, illness, or other causes beyond our control.

Personal information submitted to us through our website will be used for the purposes specified: send you goods purchased through our website; supply to you services purchased through our website; send statements, invoices and payment reminders to you, and collect payments from you; send you to email notifications that you have specifically requested; send you marketing communications relating to our business which we think may be of interest to you, by post or, where you have specifically agreed to this, by email or similar technology (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require marketing communications); deal with inquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to our website. We will not, without your express consent, supply your personal information to any third party for the purpose of their or any other third parties direct marketing.

Aware of the importance of sustainable tourism development, and assumed the principles adopted specifically in the Sector Technical Standard NTS-TS 003, the tour operator Go Birding Colombia is committed to implementing sustainable management of its activities by adopting commitments aimed at preventing, eliminating or reducing the impact of our facilities.
